Ace Basin: March 15th -22nd, 2015
We'll begin the trip in Twin City, GA at the historic George L Smith State Park where we will spend three nights in comfortable clean, new cabins. From this base we'll paddle the first day on the Mill Pond out our front door. Tuesday we will travel out to the Ogeechee River for a full day paddle. Wednesday will be our day to drive to Walterboro, SC. We will stop for a short paddle picnic on Ebenezer Creek—a beautiful cypress swamp with spectacular trees.
In Walterboro, SC we will use two small B&Bs, the 907 B&B and the Old Academy B&B, as our base. Here we will paddle the name sake rivers of the ACE Basin including the Ashepoo, the Combahee, and the Edisto Rivers.
This guided trip will include six days of day trip paddling on rivers and swamps of the ACE Basin in SC and nearby rivers and streams in Georgia. We will be housed in cabin and B&B accommodations for the entire seven nights (lodging, food, boat equipment included).
Reservation and Deposits:
Total trip cost is $1695. Deposit ($850) should be by check to SRCO, 73 Dorsey St, Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Balance is due January 15th 2015 .
