We are offering guided winter outings for snowshoeing and/or winter hiking. Some excursions will be pre-scheduled while others can be set up upon your request. These excursions are designed to cater to varying levels of intensity and ability.

Winter 6'ers!
Come see the Saranac 6’ers in their winter splendor! This Guided Snowshoe series is set up for folks looking to knock off one or all of Saranac Lake’s six peaks in wintertime. We’re offering a few different peaks a month. Sign up for them all and get 15% off.
Includes lunch, transportation if needed, and rental snowshoes/poles/microspikes if needed.
Baker Mountain – December 9th, January 20th $65 per person
Ampersand Mountain – February 4th $125 per person
Haystack and McKenzie Mountains – February 24th $150 per person
St. Regis Mountain – March 3rd $125 per person

Adirondack Peaks Snowshoe
Have that one peak on your mind, but not sure if you want to give it a shot without a guide? Get ahold of us! We have guides with plenty of winter peak experience. Choose the adventure that seems right for you. If you’re looking for suggestions, call the shop to get started in the right direction.
Includes snowshoes and microspikes if needed. We can meet you at the trailhead, or our shop in Saranac Lake. Plan for a full day.
Pick-a-Peak: 2+ $300 per person; 4+ $225 per person.

Avalanche Lake: 2+ $250 per person; 4+ $175 per person
A mellow hike into the heart of the high peaks
Catamount/Lyon Mountain: 2+ $200 per person, 4+ $170 per person
A fun introduction to the more technical side of winter travel. Still snowshoe friendly, though.
Stargazer Snowshoe
Journey into the woods under a canopy of winter stars. We’ll meet at the shop and then head out to the St Regis area for a brief snowshoe, campfire, and warm refreshments. After the stars come out, we’ll take a break from the fire and listen to a bit of stargazing knowledge from one of our experienced guides. And don’t worry, we’ve scheduled our dates to match the lunar calendar for the best gazing experience.
Includes snowshoes kit, hot chocolate, marshmallows, and transportation from our shop if needed.

Snowshoe Cruiser
Want to get out but not looking to set a speed record? Come join a group of like-minded folks for a reasonably paced adventure. We’ll take a group poll and decide where to go depending on interest. Common destinations are the St. Regis Wilderness Area, Paul Smith’s, and some modest local peaks.
