We have two bases, both of which are on the water. In addition we run guided group canoe trips in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. See the Destination Trips section for details.
Saranac River Base (Hours: 8 am-7 pm, 7 Days a Week)
- We are on the Saranac River in Downtown Saranac Lake
- A part of the 740 mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail
The Saranac River Base includes a year-round 5000 square foot paddlesports shop and our rental shop. Our front door is only 70 feet from the river with our own private launch. Free demos are always available and you are encouraged to "try before you buy". We provide a special for the Saranac Islands Campground of delivery and pick-up of boats, people, and gear to and from the campground headquarters. Numerous day trips and extended camping trips are available from our door. Many consider the three to four day trip connecting our two bases to be the premier Adirondack Canoe Camping trip.
Floodwood Outpost (Hours: 9am-5pm, 7 Days a Week)
- We are on the portage between the St. Regis Canoe Area and the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest
Our unique Location on Floodwood Pond provides direct access to Fish Creek and Upper Saranac Lake with no portages. The St Regis Canoe Wilderness is literally at our doorstep. From this base, several loop trips and numerous one-way trips, ranging from a few hours to over 120 mles are possible.
We are open daily (after the ice is fully out) in mid April to the second Sunday in October, or by appointment.
You will find that our wide range of services, attention to detail, and quality gear provide peace of mind.
Our locations are convenient and our staff is simply a joy to work with.
Floodwood Outpost ECO Lodge
As part of the Adirondack Winter Excrusions guided overnight trip you have the option to stay overnight (bring your own sleeping bag) for one to two nights in our rustic and cozy, "off the grid" lodging based at our Floodwood Outpost at the edge of the St Regis Wilderness. See the Adirondack Winter Excursions trip description for more information.
