Adirondack Park Guided Canoe & Kayak Day Trips

Our popular guided day trips are a nice way to tie a day of paddling into your Adirondack vacation.  These trips also allow you to put together your own package trip. Our guided day trips vary in length. Our full day trips generally includes about 4-5 hrs of paddling and a lunch.

Cost & Details:

  • Full Day Trip Basic Rate: $169 Per Person (minimum of 2 people)
  • Full Day Trip Group Rate Per Person (for groups of 4 or more who reserve all at the same time):  $139 per person
  • Specialty Trip:  $10 added for trips including Lake Lila, Bog River to Low's Lower Dam, and Upper St. Regis Guided History Tour of Great Camps
  • Tips are not included in these rates, please don't forget to tip your guide!

NOTE: Trip locations are subject to change. Please call. We will tailor the day to the first people that reserve for that day. Some days we have more than one trip so there may be options available.  We can shorten some trips to accomodate your needs.

We include: Guide, transport and logistics, a great lunch (full day trips only), and a canoe or kayak - your choice (you may bring your own boat).

We require a minimum of two people to run trips.  We offer a discount for groups of 4 or more who reserve at the same time, so tell your friends!

Reservations may be made with payment in advance. We ask for a minimum of 48 hours notice when reserving.

All reservation deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. If circumstances beyond our control cause us to cancel any reservation (extremely rare!), we will promptly refund your deposit in full.

The two trip length options for our Guided Day Trips are:

  • Full Day: Trips are generally 4-5 hours of paddling and include water and lunch.
  • Specialty Trips generally last longer due to added transportation and other arrangements.

Guided Day Trips

This is a full six hours with about 4 hrs paddling and 2+ hrs of hiking. The mountain is 700 feet uphill to an open, rocky top with views of the St. Regis Area, Upper Saranac Lake and the High Peak. The four ponds are connected by three short portages.

This is a 4-5 hours paddle trip including Middle Saranac, the Saranac River and Lower Saranac Lake. Beautiful beaches and island studded lakes are connected by the Saranac River and the Upper Locks.

On each of these  guided day trips we will hike one of the Saranac Lake 6er Mountains, which includes Scarface, McKenzie, (little) Haystack, St. Regis, Mount Baker, and Ampersand Mountains.  The hikes up St.

Axton Landing on the Raquetter River  to the Crusher Landing is an easy full day trip with no portages.  The 9 mile route takes you down the scenic Raquette River.  It is relatively protected waters.

This trip in the Whitney Wilderness Area is one of our longest day trips in terms of overall time. We drive approx 50 minutes to the access point and portage 1/3 mile to get to the shore of Lake Lila. Many consider Lake Lila to be one of the most beautiful wilderness lakes in the park.

This trip in the Whitney Wilderness Area includes larger lakes with beautiful islands and beaches. There are no portages.  We will travel to and start paddling at "Whitney Headquarters"  access point.

We are excited to offer specialized seasonal trips during the shoulder seasons, which includes a 4-5 hour paddle to on small ponds or rivers that offer the best selection of nature.  Be sure to bring your camera.

We will paddle the winding Bog River past beautiful pine trees to Hitchin's Pond and the remains of Agustus Low's Estate and Empire. Here we pick up the 1.1 mile trail which leads 400 feet uphill to the open rocky summit of Low's Ridge.

This is a 4+ hours, full day trip paddle that starts on Floodwood Pond and  meanders through  Fish Creek, a beautiful small stream flowing out of the pond.  We will expolore adjoining ponds including Little Square Pond, Copperas Pond and Follensby Clear Pond.

This is a 4-5 hour downstream paddle to the top of Permanent Rapids. There is some current and one easy Class I rapid.
